Most of you by now will be aware that Mark Scott was involved in a serious accident on Saturday 18th June 2011. Mark was hit by a car when he was on a training ride with Bob Scott. At the time of writing this article Mark remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Mark is a valued member of the triathlon community. Mark entered into the sport of triathlon at the age of 13 and during his time as a junior achieved some outstanding results. He subsequently went on to race as a professional and competed overseas in many events including the University Games (on a number of occasions) and as a representative for Triathlon NSW/Australia.

For the past few years Mark has raced long course and Ironman events whilst setting up his own coaching business Scott Endurance. Mark is very popular with athletes in Wollongong and also has made a significant contribution to the sport through roles at Triathlon NSW and by working with Juniors both at Club level and elite level.
